ABOUT THE PROJECT
The project was inspired by Roland
Barthes' A Lover's Discourse, in which he poses the question
to himself of what is the definition of and how to quantify
his desire. In making portraits of the objects of my glances,
from friends to strangers and everything in between, Beloved
Object... serves as my attempt at understanding the question
Barthes posed to himself. ...Revisited presents a survey and
conceptual re-editing of the 2005 project. Combining original
selections with select re-edits two years later, based on new
understandings of my relationships to these people, this body
of work may be finished yet benefits from the advantage of
the photographic medium and a major theme of my work: the possibility
to look again. |
